A Christmas Story House

Last year Paul and I went on a little road trip to visit Amish Country. On our way we visited the Christmas Story House. If you are a fan of the movie then this is a must. Although few scenes were actually shot in the house it was still worth the trip. You get to step back in time. There are lots of opportunities to take funny pictures. The gift shop has some really unique and funny items. I never get tired of this movie. It has been a favorite in my family for years. Visit the website for more information-

Ralphie as Adult: [chuckling] Ho, ho, but no matter. Christmas was on its way. Lovely, glorious, beautiful Christmas, upon which the entire kid year revolved.

All I Want For Christmas is……

As I dare go out to the stores these mere days before Christmas I have come to wonder what people are really wanting for Christmas this year? Is it the newest cell phone? Gift cards ? Jewelry ? perhaps. For me personally, I wish for truly one thing this year- good health. Plain and simple. It has been a rocky year personally. We have all had those years that leave us in anticipation of the next year being better than the last. So I will leave this posting with both a question and a quote. What do you truly wish for Christmas?

If we think of our heart,
rather than our purse,
as the reservoir
of our giving,
we shall find it
full all the time!

Muppet Movie Review

If you know me than you know that I love the Muppets!  We went on Saturday to see the movie. I have to say that I loved it. I think if you are a fan you will too. They have added a new character called Walter, who is very cute. There are many serious, poignant moments in the movie. In many ways I found it very touching as it dealt with topics of strained friendships, family loyalty and relationships. Amy Adams and Jason Segal were very good. It was enjoyable looking for celebrities as they made cameo appearances. The movie is wonderful for old fans and new alike. My favorite song was “Am I a Muppet or a Man?” (go to youtue to check it out)which was very moving. I think its time we bring back the Muppets in a big way!

Things You Don’t Know About Me

1. I’ve started to do more cooking and trying out recipes of all sorts. I got inspired after watching the movie “Julie and Julia”.

2. I hate the band KISS. Their makeup totally scares. I have seriously had nightmares….

3. I’ve always wanted to get married in Vegas. Paul and I have talked about getting our vows renewed there one day.

4. Besides my Lucy collection, I have now started a collection of all things Grace Kelly.

5. I love strawberry daiquiris.
